RJ, as he’s known to us, joined the SM100 squad as a helping hand. One of a small army of volunteers, he spent the weekend enjoying the party atmosphere the event had to offer and avoiding Sunday’s suffering. During the race he helped man Check Point 5 as a mechanic, 75 miles in, near the top of the Death Climb. What follows is his account of the weekend:
RJ sincerely regrets that he could not be conscious for all pre and post race festivities. At the end of the day, the kegs proved too alluring to ignore. From what he remembers, he had a very good time.
